Photoshoot

Happy daze was the location we chose for our photo shoot, we used the location to film in also. This location is a strong convention to the theme of your video and the genred style we are aiming it to as a target audience, This theme was inspired by the Beyonce video 'why dont you love me' to show portral of strong females within that period of time. This location has a very strong 50's dinner theme which we are wanting to portray in the video. Making the most from the location, props, costume and performance the entire mise-en-scene made a great opportunity to capture some strong images for a advert and digipak. The lighting in the dinner made it feel very themed , minimal natural lighting was used but a lot of artificial light was used and reflected of surfaces to make areas more high key then others.

DSC_1970, 1972,1973,1974,1975,1976. The focus and the lighting on theses images have been successful in framing but in the background of the frame we can see out of the video to a 21st century environment. Which does not work well with the theme therefor these images may not be the best choice to use.

DSC_2018 the framing in  this images is not as strong as it could of been so i would not choose to work with this image. The images do appear to be dark on the contact sheet but on a larger scale the artificial spotlighting highlights areas of the framing to create a 50's and dated theme.

DSC_2055 this image is to dark and would not be used. DSC_2047 to DSC_2052 have worked successfully using the car front in the dinner as a prop it creates a interesting composition for the model to work with, Highlighting the theme well to attract the audience.

DSC_2079 to DSC_2086 have very low key lighting and the focus is not very strong making the image quality poor. The composition in images 2084 to 2086 have a exit sign and a toilet sign in the background making it less attractive to the audience. The images where the  modle is interacting with the props are successful as it makes you feel like you are watching in on her showing voyeurism as though we are looking in attracting a male gaze like Laura Mulveys theory.

This section of the photoshoot the model interacted with the props that we had access to at the venue. This gave off a fun and flirty vibe to this section of the shoot, to portray the conventions of a typical 50's strong female character.

Images DSC_2124 to DSC_2131 are strong quality in a sharp focus the mise-en-scene plays a strong part of the images in these shots the costume and the setting really highlights the look of 50' theme we aimed to capture. The rest of the images in this section of the shoot where less successful and the lighting was dark which spoilt the effect of the framing we where trying to capture.
