Opie self portrait

Rachel Harriman

This is a portrait picture of myself in the style of Julian Opie, who is a british artist famous for his work on blur greatest hits album cover. I used a program called photo booth to capture a photo of myself. I opened this image onto photo shop and cropped the original image down to a size that is appropriate to work with using the selection tool then image crop. Adding a new layer i the used the lasso tool to trace around the outline of my hair once i had done this i used the colour picker and selected a cool then used the fill tool to apply this colour. i repeat the same process several times to apply face, facial features, neck, arms and t-shirts. I selected certain layers and adjusted the stroke lines to enhance the shapes do it did not just like one block of colour it gave more detail to the shape of my body features. Lastly i applied i final layer behind all the other layers and used the fill tool to apply a background to finish of my own Julian Opie style of work.
